Looking out for each other is what we do at St Hilda’s. We have a student pastoral care team trained to offer peer support and a professional wellbeing staff for more complex issues. Pastoral care is also built into our academic offering, through first year mentor groups led by residential tutors.
An open door policy is in place so you can drop in to chat about any issues of concern with the Principal or Vice-Principal. You’ll get support for referrals to external services. Privacy and confidentiality are respected. Because we are a medium-sized college of 220 students, it is very hard to get lost in this very caring and close-knit environment.
We have an academic and well being coordinator on staff, and a dedicated staff group who love to nurture young people. You will find a college full of professional people who care about you and your development.
People are here for you. A duty tutor is always on call at night. Your resident tutor plays an academic and pastoral role for you. Don’t be shy about approaching them for a chat. Student Club leaders and pastoral support workers can provide valuable peer support, too.
St Hilda's College is a living community and residential college on campus at the University of Melbourne.
